About Chrysten

I am a wife and mother of four beautiful, strong children. Each a blessing. Sofia age 6, Luke age 5, Grace age 3, and Caralyn 2.  I was raised Evangelical, but in my late twenties I was unexpectedly drawn to the Catholic Church and was confirmed Catholic on Easter 2007.  No one was more surprised than myself.

I love Jesus, C.S. Lewis, and black and white films.

In the summer of 2014 Jake and I and our four children moved to the small town of Mt. Angel, Oregon.

I think it special.

I am in no place to pilgrimage as I did when I was young and single.  So I search for God here.  I search for God on quiet walks through damp farmland. I search for God in the daily tasks of cleaning, laundry and preparing dinner. I search for God in my children’s faces, wet with tears. My favorite places to find Him are in art, talks over a long dinner, flamenco music, my husband’s patience, TED talks, and quiet naps with my children.  I never fail to find Him in the Eucharist, and that has made all the difference.
